Peter Dinklage has ripped into the live-action reboot of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The Game of Thrones star believes the movie is plagued with hypocrisy because actor Rachel Zegler, who has Colombian heritage, has been cast in the titular role.

Dinklage said the American star was picked to be 'progressive', yet they still chose to leave in the seven dwarves.

Speaking on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, he said: "Literally no offence to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White.

"You're still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Take a step back and look at what you're doing there. It makes no sense to me.

"You're progressive in one way and you're still making that f***ing backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the f*** are you doing man?"

It's worth noting that the 1937 animated film, as well as the original 1812 story, had the dwarves living in a cottage, not a cave.

They work in a nearby mine, which is what Peter might have been talking about, but there are other iterations of the Snow White story that have the seven sidekicks living in a cave.

However, the 52-year-old, who has dwarfism, believes the storyline is a little problematic in 2022.

"Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soap box? I guess I'm not loud enough," he said on the podcast.

Disney

"I don't know which studio that is but they were so proud of it. All love and respect to the actress and all the people who thought they were doing the right thing. But I'm just like, what are you doing?"

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves was the very first feature length Disney animated film.

It's based on the fairytale from the Brothers Grimm, who are responsible for loads of other famous tales like Cinderall, The Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin and Sleeping Beauty.

It follows the titular character Snow White and her relationship with seven dwarfs who are named after emotions or feelings.

She gets tricked into eating a poisoned apple by the Queen, who wants her dead because her Magic Mirror revealed Snow White is the 'fairest of them all'.

Snow falls into a coma for a year until she is woken up by a kiss from a prince.
