It's official, Rambo Last Blood is coming to the big screen on 20 September 2019. The fifth instalment will see Sylvester Stallone rock the headband once more as the troubled war veteran John Rambo. Last Blood is set to be Stallone's final Rambo movie, a franchise that has spanned five films and grossed more than $750 million at the worldwide box office. Unlike the other Rambo films, this one is going to take place in the USA and Mexico and will see Sly's character - who now suffers with severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder - living in Arizona on a ranch. If the trailer is anything to go by, it looks like it could be the most action-packed one yet:

The film synopsis reads: "Almost four decades after he drew first blood, Sylvester Stallone is back as one of the greatest action heroes of all time, John Rambo.

"Now, Rambo must confront his past and unearth his ruthless combat skills to exact revenge in a final mission. A deadly journey of vengeance, RAMBO: LAST BLOOD marks the last chapter of the legendary series."

Apparently, the granddaughter of a good friend is kidnapped and taken deep into Mexico by a drug cartel, which means that John Rambo has to go all action man again and head on down there after them.

As well as Sly himself, Rambo Last Blood will star Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adrianna Barraza, Yvette Monreal, Genie Kim aka Yenah Han, Joaquin Cosio and Oscar Jaenada.

In recent times, Sly has hinted that some of his days in the more physical roles might be behind him, which is probably a good idea for a 73-year old. He told Variety magazine: "The heart's willing, but the body says, 'Stay home'.

"It's like fighters that go back for one last round and get clobbered. Leave it to someone else."

Sly is extremely active on Instagram and has taken to the platform to share the status of the film. Recently, he gave a shout out to all the people behind the scenes who make the movie work.

The caption read: "Last day in the mixing room ... Actors may get the glory , but It takes hundreds of hard workers behind the scenes the make a movie work! Thanks You all..."

If you like a good action film or a cowboy flick, then this is the film for you.
