Tom Cruise Called A 'Perfect Gentleman' For Simple Gesture To Help Kate Middleton

Tom Cruise Called A 'Perfect Gentleman' For Simple Gesture To Help Kate Middleton

The 59-year-old actor offered his hand to help The Duchess up the red carpet stairs, proving that he’s nothing less of a king.

Tom Cruise has been praised after offering Kate Middleton a sweet gesture at the royal premiere of Top Gun: Maverick in London.

The Duchess of Cambridge stunned in a Roland Mouret dress as she graced the red carpet just moments before she greeted the Top Gun star with her husband, Prince William.

Despite looking beautiful in her off the shoulder gown, we have no doubt it was challenging to walk in.

However, Cruise was there to help Kate every step of the way, sweetly offering his hand to help her up the red carpet stairs, proving that he’s nothing less of a king.

And where was Will, you ask? Just strolling along with his hands in his pockets. Take note and help a girl out!

Cruise has been applauded on social media for his small yet kind gesture, with one person writing on Twitter: "Tom Cruise being a perfect gentleman tonight!! Kate just stunning."

Another person commented: “A true fan girl moment for the Duchess of Cambridge - as Tom Cruise helps her up the steps at the Top Gun: Maverick premiere, with Prince William looking super happy for his wife!"

A third person said: "They've met so many big names, they're not generally fazed by celebrity, but I think perhaps William knows Kate's dying!"

While another wrote: “The Duchess looks breathtaking and iconic! What a star couple. And Tom Cruise helping her up the stairs, what a gentleman!”

Alas! Chivalry is not dead, ladies!

Prince William and Kate attended the premiere as part of a Royal Film Performance, a fundraising event organised by The Film and TV Charity, supporting people working behind the scenes in the UK’s film and TV industry.

The royal couple was also lucky enough to meet other cast members from the film.

The Top Gun sequel will once again follow the best living testing pilot Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell (Tom Cruise), as he finally returns to the silver screen after more than 35 years.

Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer have reprised their roles and are joined by some new faces, including Jon Hamm, Lewis Pullman and Jennifer Connelly.

Miles Teller also stars as Lt. Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw, the son of Maverick’s late friend, Nick 'Goose' Bradshaw.

Top Gun: Maverick is set to take flight in theatres May 24.
