Madonna thinks she looks ‘cute’ after the ‘swelling’ went down in her face post-'surgery'

The singer took to Twitter after copping heavy criticism over her ‘new face’ following her Grammys appearance.

Madonna feels ‘cute’ after the swelling went down from her face after apparently undergoing surgery.

The legendary singer took to Twitter to prove she’s bounced back after copping heavy criticism over her ‘new face’ at the Grammys.

The 'Like A Virgin' icon posted an image that showed off a smize that would even make Tyra Banks proud.

She captioned the photo: “Look how cute I am now that swelling from surgery has gone down. Lol.”

The lol and laughing emoji at the end of the post could mean she's making a joke about what everyone has been saying recently.

The singer presented Sam Smith and Kim Petras' performance of ‘Unholy’ at the 2023 Grammys earlier this month.

Following her appearance, many began to dissect the kinds of plastic surgery the singer had to make her look ‘unrecognizable’.

One person wrote: “My God, what has Madonna done to her face?”

Another said: “Omg, did you see Madonna at the Grammys? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO HER FACE? She looked monstrous. It was shocking.”

While a third person commented: “Who took more injections- Mahomes’ ankle at halftime or Madonna’s face before the Grammys.”

Ah, the internet is a fun place for women sometimes.

However, the 64-year-old was quick to hit back at her critics, explaining that she had been the subject of ‘ageism’ and ‘misogyny’.

She wrote on February 8: “Once again, I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny That permeates the world we live in."

The singer added that women past 45 are often invisible; however, she refuses to go out quietly.

“A world that refuses to celebrate women past the age of 45 And feels the need to punish her If she continues to be strong-willed, hard-working and adventurous," she shared.

The 64-year-old singer also said that despite being swept up in a media storm, she would continue to ‘trailblaze’ to break conventional norms regarding beauty standards.

She said: “I have been degraded by the media since the beginning of my career but I understand that this is all a test and I am happy to do the trailblazing so that all the women behind me can have an easier time in the years to come.

“In the words of Beyonce, ‘You-won’t break my soul’”.

Madonna added that she would never cease ‘pushing the boundaries’ and ‘standing up to the patriarchy’.

She concluded: “Bow down b**ches!”
