Martin Lawrence Says He's Not Paying For Daughter's Wedding To Eddie Murphy's Son

Martin Lawrence says he will not be footing the bill if his daughter marries Eddie Murphy's son.

It's well documented that Jasmine Lawrence and Eric Murphy have been dating for some time, with the couple sharing pics of them together to social media.

So when Jimmy Kimmel got some time with the Bad Boys star this week, he couldn't resist asking about their potential future nuptials.

When asked whether he and his former Life co-star had discussed their kids' relationship, the 57-year-old said they prefer to let them get on with it.

Lawrence said: "We haven’t talked about it.

"We kind of just stay out of their business and let them do their own thing, and respect their thing."

But if the pair ever decide to tie the knot, he said he hoped Murphy would step in to pay for it.

He joked: "I’m gonna try to get Eddie to pay for it."

Eric, 32, and Jasmine, 26, revealed they were seeing each other last year, when they shared a snap of them snuggling.

Posting to Instagram, the pic was captioned: "Head over heels in LOVE with YOU."

While earlier this year, Eric shared a pic of them together, with a heartfelt message for Jasmine to celebrate her birthday. 

He wrote: "Happy Birthday, Beautiful! Thank you for being such a blessing in my life.

"I am so fortunate to experience your unconditional love. I pray that God blesses you abundantly as you enter your 26th year. You have made my life better than I ever thought it could be.

"You embody everything I ever prayed for in a significant other.

"Keep shining your bright light on the world. I am so incredibly proud of you. Thank you for being the best girlfriend of all time!

"I LOVE YOU!! @jasmin_lawrence."

Earlier this year, there were concerns that we wouldn't see Lawrence return to the big screen as Marcus Burnett following Will Smith's 'moment' at the Oscars.

However, Sony recently came out and rubbished those rumours, and said the fourth instalment of the Bad Boys franchise was still in the works.

The company's chairman, Tom Rothman, said: "That movie’s been in development and still is. There weren’t any brakes to pump because the car wasn’t moving.

"That was a very unfortunate thing that happened, and I don’t think it’s really my place to comment, except to say that I’ve known Will Smith for many years, and I know him to be a good person. 

"That was an example of a very good person having a very bad moment, in front of the world. I believe his apology and regret is genuine, and I believe in forgiveness and redemption."
