Following the sad news that Meat Loaf has passed away at age 74, fans of the singer want to know what his net worth was.

The performer, whose real name was Michael Lee Aday, sold millions of albums worldwide, with the 'Bat Out Of Hell' trilogy being one of his most popular musical works.

In 2016 he was appointed with the Hero Award at the annual Q Awards music ceremony. The star dedicated his award to everyday heroes and encouraged people to “bring love back into this world”.

What was Meat Loaf's net worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Meat Loaf had an estimated net worth of about $40 million (£29 million).

He started his career in performing at a young age, initially appearing in school productions.

After college, Meat Loaf moved to LA and started his first band, Meat Loaf Soul, which was inspired by his football coach’s nickname for the star.

He then went on to perform in musicals like Hair and The Rocky Horror Show, as well as performing with fellow music legends like The Who, The Stooges and Alice Cooper.

His trademark album, Bat Out Of Hell, sold around 43 million copies around the world, marking it as the best-selling album of all time.

Meat Loaf then went on to record and release many other albums, with his last release being his 2016 work, Braver Than We Are.

In November 2021, Meat Loaf announced via his official Facebook page that he would be returning to the recording studio with his band in January 2022 to record seven songs for a new album.

It is not clear yet whether those songs were recorded before his death, and whether they will become a post-humous album for the singer.
