Billie Eilish has taken to social media to warn fans about fake profiles set up her name.

Posting on her verified Instagram account the singer told her followers there was a hoax account on Snapchat pretending to be here.

She wrote: "Some people are pretending to be me on Snapchat. I do not use Snapchat to talk anyone.

"If you think you are talking to me, it is not me, I promise you. No matter what they sat to convince you... on my entire family's life, I am not talking to you through Snapchat.

"It is not me. I'm sorry to those who have been scammed."

This isn't the first-time the 18-year-old has had to deal with people pretending to be her.

Earlier this year, she pleaded with YouTubers to stop dressing as her and going out in public to film content.

In a screenshot she shared online, fans could see she had carried out a simple search for 'Pretending to be Billie Eilish' into YouTube and found a whole host of clips, with titles such as 'INSANE BILLIE EILISH TRANSFORMATION *SHUT DOWN MALL*', 'I Pretended to be Billie Eilish *GONE WRONG*' and even 'I MET BILLIE EILISH AT THE MALL (SHE WAS SO RUDE)'.

Sharing a screen-grab from one, she wrote: "Please stop doing this s***.

"It is not safe for you and it is not safe for you and it is mean to the people who don't know any better you make me look bad."

She then ended her plea with a sly dig at one of those pretending to be her, sharing a photo of one of her lookalikes and posting: "Also sooo disrespectful that you'd go out pretending to be me wearing THIS," alongside two crying-with-laughter emojis.

Billie's brother Finneas O'Connell, who is also her producer and co-songwriter, recently confirmed that his sister was working on a new album.

Speaking to Vulture, he said: "We've started working on the new album, and I think the best thing we can do is stay out of our own way.

"The first album was pretty pure in its intention. We didn't set out to write a darling album. Our only target was to make an album that we liked, to play live.

"I think that's all we're gonna do for the second. All the other things are side effects. You can't aim for those."
