Kanye West Admits The 'Taylor Swift Moment' Helped Trigger His Breakdown

There was quite a bit of beef going on between Kanye and Swifty back in the day. In the day being 2016 so, not that long ago actually.

For anyone needing a recap - Tay-Tay went cray-cray when she heard Kanye's song Famous - you know the one with all the naked bodies in bed, including Taylor, Kim and strangely, Donald Trump.

Kanye said he got her approval to record the lyrics 'I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex' but she says she never gave permission and called it 'misogynistic'.

Then Kim Kardashian, Kayne's wife for anyone living under a rock, posted a conversation that Kanye secretly recorded in which he reads some of the lyrics to Taylor - in particular having sex with her - and she calls it a 'compliment', according to TMZ.

Now, Kanye has revealed in an interview that the princess of pop was one of the factors that caused his nervous breakdown in 2016. We're sure she'll have something to say about that in due course.

He said: "Ever since the Taylor Swift moment it just had never been the same, the connection with radio. It's like whatever powers that be it was much harder after that."

And we bet everyone thought it was going to be because of that VME occasion.

Yeezy released his interview with Charlamagne Tha God and in the first few minutes he explains what led to him being hospitalised in late November 2016.

He says that ever since he and Kim posted the video seemingly showing that Taylor knew about his infamous 'Famous' lyric, his relationship with radio has 'never been the same', as reported by TMZ.

He admits he wanted major radio play as one of the most popular artists in the world, and says the fact he simply wasn't getting it after he released 'Life of Pablo' messed with his head.

The interview begins with Kanye telling director and actor Charlamagne Tha God that he's feeling 'good'.

Adding: "I think I'm in a stronger place than I ever was after the breakdown, I like to say the breakthrough."

When quizzed on what he thinks caused the breakdown (or breakthrough), Kayne said: "Fear, stress, control, being controlled, manipulation. Things that create validation that I didn't need to worry about as much.

"Being in competition with so many elements at one time and a race against time, your age - are you getting old? Race against popularity on the radio."

We're glad Kanye is feeling better, that's the main thing.
