Back in 2008/09 Lady Gaga literally ran popular culture, whether you hated her or loved her.
She paired massive pop songs with an eccentric dress sense and personality that was just about unavoidable. From the meat dress to her male persona, she was everywhere.
Then her musical output arguably became weaker and the masses started to lose interest.
It's now been over two years since she released a solo effort and she's spent the majority of her time starring in American Horror Story.
Shes still definitely Lady Gaga though and today she posted a photo of her and her fiance Taylor Kinney, post-sex. The two rolled around on a canvas bumping uglies in the name of art, and charity.
MTV reported that the photo will act as the cover for the latest issue of V Magazine and that 100% of the proceeds go to her Born This Way Foundation, which helps to promote youth issues and wellness.
There is actually a message behind the photo, which Gaga wrote about in an article for the mag:
"We made love on this canvas on a Sunday in Chicago. We made love amidst chaos. We talked about shootings. We made love amidst terrorism.. And we talked about how peoples hearts are suffering all over the world as they watch and witness a swell of violence. We made love amidst violence.
"During tumultuous times we hope everyone in the world will see this and be reminded to love each other wildly, generously, totally, colorfully, without fear and with compassionate hearts. We made a galaxy of endless colors with only brief, black holes of emptiness that are then filled in by each other, Lady Gaga."
