Stormzy Stops Gig In Ibiza To Watch England's Penalty Shootout Win

Here's a dilemma that all football fans know all too well. Picture the scene: you're asked to do something weeks or months in advance, and agree to do it. Then, circumstances develop that mean that the thing you've agreed to do loads at the exact time that your favourite team is playing.

Obviously, you don't want to let everyone down, but you also want to watch the game. This leaves only one option. Multi-task.

That's exactly what Stormzy did whilst he was playing a set in front of hundreds of people in Ibiza.

England were playing Colombia last night - as anyone who hasn't been living under a rock will be acutely aware - and it was a nail biting affair that ended up going to penalties. England won in the end, but Stormzy made sure that he caught the drama.

He stopped his gig, crouched down and watched the penalties.

The whole crowd was on tenterhooks. Stormzy himself looked to be struggling to contain his excitement. Luckily, it had a happy ending. Once the result was in the bag, everybody started leaping about and Stormzy launched into a crazy, energetic version of his hit 'Big For Your Boots'.

It could have gone two ways, to be fair. If they'd lost, would he have struggled to bring the energy back to the gig? Probably not, you'd have to think.

A video of the incident was posted by Ben Anderson, who said: "Only Stormzy could stop his #MerkyFestival headline set at @ibizarocks to watch England win the penalty shoot out and then go straight into 'Big For Your Boots'"

The smoke cannons went off, the music started banging, and everyone was jumping around, happy and safe in the knowledge that England had won.

Looks like a whole heap of fun.

People online were loving it too:

As for England, they go on to face Sweden in the quarter finals on Saturday in Samara. They'll start as heavy favourites for that tie.

Expect every English musician to clear their schedule entirely if they make the final.
