The official UK number one Christmas song has been revealed for 2025.
The last two years have been dominated by an iconic Christmas track, with WHAM!’s 'Last Christmas' topping the festive charts for 2023 and 2024.
Now, however, Whamageddon is officially over, with the top spot for this festive season going to another musical artist.
This will perhaps come as a shock to many in the UK, with WHAM! having been 1/6 favourites to win for a third year running.

There were a number of tough contenders this year, with many considering supergroup Together for Palestine's 'Lullaby' to be the favourite, featuring Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Bastille’s Dan Smith, and several other celebrities raising money for Palestinian-led organisations. Despite the worthy cause, they didn’t come in at the top spot.
Who got the Christmas number one for 2025?
The UK Christmas top spot for 2025 has been taken by the iconic Kylie Minogue.
Minogue released a Christmas album this year, including her Amazon Music exclusive track 'XMAS'.
This comes 22 years on from her last number one single in the UK charts with 2003’s 'Slow'.
She also becomes the first ever female artist to bag a UK number one in four different decades, the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2020s.
This takes her past Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Mariah Carey, placing her among elite company in the UK Charts, with only Elvis Presley, Elton John, and Queen, having managed to get number ones in four decades.
The only man to ever manage it in five is, perhaps surprisingly for some, Cliff Richards.
What has Kylie Minogue said about getting Christmas number one?
Minogue exclusively told Official Charts: “It’s hard to put into words how special this feels.
“Being Christmas Number 1 really is the most wonderful gift!
“I’m so thankful to everyone who’s been listening and sharing the love and I’m wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!”
WHAM!'s 'Last Christmas' came in at number two, with 'Lullaby' by Together for Palestine taking the third spot in the UK Christmas charts, an achievement Official Charts called 'a proud moment for all involved'.
While she has previously received a Christmas number one for her part in 1989’s Band Aid II, which again released 'Do They Know It’s Christmas?', this marks Minogue's first time topping the festive charts as a solo act.
For those yet to have heard it, here’s Minogue’s Christmas Number 1, 'XMAS'.
