Melle Mel apologises to Eminem for releasing his diss track and now massively regrets it

The Furious Five member said his song that takes aim at the iconic Detroit rapper ‘fell short'.

Melle Mel has issued an apology to Eminem and says he ‘regrets’ his latest diss track.

The Furious Five member released a statement via AllHipHop, saying that his track slamming the iconic Detroit rapper ‘fell short'.

“In light of the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, my original intention was to contribute an engaging and enjoyable endeavour to enrich the cultural landscape,” the rapper began.

“Regrettably, my response fell short in its execution, and I accept full responsibility for the misjudgment.

"I acknowledge that my perspective was ill-conceived and I am prepared to take ownership of this oversight.

“It has become evident that Eminem’s dedicated and passionate fan base stands unwaveringly by his side, which is a testament to their genuine admiration and loyalty—a truly commendable aspect.”

Mel also touched upon his previous claims that Em’s success is primarily due to his skin colour after he earned a top spot on Billboard & Vibe’s Top 50 Greatest Rappers list.

“From the onset, I have consistently recognised Eminem’s exception[al] prowess as an emcee, without reservation. My unfortunate choice of words, suggesting that his success is solely attributed to the colour of his skin was in no way reflective of my genuine beliefs. It was an attempt, albeit misguided, to engage competitively within the emcee sphere,” he said.

‘Melle Mel’s Response to Eminem’s Latest Diss’ came after Em accused the rapper of being on steroids.

In the song, Mel refers to the hip hop pioneer as Pee-Wee Herman and advises him to respond to The Game, who took aim at Em in ‘The Black Slim Shady’.

"The Top five is cap/You the piss that's on the floor in the elevator of rap/Why you ducking on The Game when you shit on my name?" he raps.

"Why they put Pee-Wee Herman in the Hall of Fame? I would give you a pound, but I'd break your hand/I got a lawyer so white, he will take your land/Yo, check your man, come and look at your friend/'Cause I think that Eminem is popping pills again!"

Many were quick to condemn the track, as one person wrote: “I’m officially a Taylor Swift fan now thanks Melle Mel you killed hip hop for me.”

Another said: “I never thought it was possible to make a worse diss than Nick Cannon’s disses to Em. Today, I was proven wrong. Well done.”

A third commented: “This man is a Hip Hop Icon. But this is what happens when you don’t check your ego.”
