Fans were thrilled this week when Radiohead announced some long-awaited UK tour dates, with a string of gigs planned in London for November.

But if you want to be part of the crowd, you don't have long as registration for general sale closes in just a few days, with seats expected to sell out fast.

If you want to see Thom Yorke and co, there are quite a few steps you need to take before adding to basket.

In a bid to beat touts and bots, the band have introduced a pre-sale registration system for fans, to try and avoid queuing chaos.

Remember how that went when Oasis tried it? We will see if the Creep creators are more successful.

How to register for the Radiohead presale

Fans are being asked to register their details here at the official Radiohead site.

Registration opens at 10am on Friday, September 5, and is open until 10pm on Sunday September 7.

By 10pm on Wednesday September 10, you will receive an email telling you whether or not you have received an unlock code.

Successful fans can then access the ticket sale at 10am next Friday September 12, using that unlock code.

You’ll be able to purchase up to four tickets for one of the nights, and cannot attend more than one date or city.

Receiving an unlock code does not guarantee a ticket, and tickets are being allocated with priority given to people who live in the same country as the show.

Can I buy tickets now?

If you don't fancy your chances in the presale rush - or if you fancy splashing out - you can register your interest for VIP and hospitality packages right now via Seat Unique.

Will resale tickets be available?

The band say resale of tickets will not be allowed, but Oasis also said the same and plenty of tickets ended up on Viagogo, StubHub and Ticombo.

To avoid ticket scams and ensure a money-back guarantee, always purchase resale tickets through verified sites such as the above.

Seat Unique offer VIP and hospitality packages for shows, and they have opened up a waiting list here for fans to register their interest in the packages once details are confirmed.

Where are Radiohead playing?

There will be 20 concerts across five cities in Europe, including Madrid, Bologna, Copenhagen, Berlin and London's O2 arena this autumn.

The London dates are:

  • November 21
  • November 22
  • November 24
  • November 25

Why have Radiohead come back now?

Radiohead last played together way back on August 1, 2018 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

The band shared the news on Instagram, confessing: "Last year, we got together to rehearse, just for the hell of it.

"After a seven year pause, it felt really good to play the songs again and reconnect with a musical identity that has become lodged deep inside all five of us. "

"It also made us want to play some shows together, so we hope you can make it to one of the upcoming dates"

"For now, it will just be these ones - but who knows where this will all lead."

Bassist Colin Greenwood told NME: “I think we’re still a band where people might want to know what might happen next. We’re very lucky to have that.”

On the other hand, Thom Yorke, in his own special way, said he 'really doesn’t give a f***' if fans wanted Radiohead back.

Speaking to Double J in Australia, he added: "No offence to anyone and err, thanks for caring. But I think we’ve earned the right to do what makes sense to us without having to explain ourselves or be answerable to anyone else’s historical idea of what we should be doing."
