Taylor Swift becomes first woman to have four albums in the top 10

The records and records keep coming.

Taylor Swift has made history by becoming the first woman to have four albums in the top 10 Billboard 200 simultaneously.

Billboard reports that the Love Story singer’s re-released album Speak Now has reached number one, officially making her the female artist with the most chart-topping albums, surpassing Barbara Streisand.

According to Luminate, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) bows with 716,000 equivalent album units earned in the US in the week ending July 13.

It’s been the biggest week for an album in 2023, beating Morgan Wallen's One Thing at a Time, which debuted in March with 501,000 units.

Speak Now is also joined by Midnights, sitting at number five, Lover (seven) and Folklore (10) on the charts.

Aside from defeating Streisand's record, Swift has become the first artist to have four albums in the top 10 in the Billboard 200 since Herb Alpert in 1966.

Apart from Alpert and Swift, only one other musician has achieved this - Prince, who had five albums in the top 10 dated in May 2016, shortly after his death.

Speak Now has also become the singer’s number one re-release album, clipping in front of Red (Taylor’s Version), now in second place, having come out of the gate with 605,000 units and Fearless (Taylor’s Version), with 291,000 units.

Many Swifties took to social media to congratulate the singer on her milestone, as one Twitter user wrote: “Mother is the Music Industry!!”

Another said: “When will mother stop breaking records?”

A third commented: “That’s a real fucking legacy.”

While another shared: “And she’s not stopping anytime soon omg EVERYBODY SHOULD BE SCARED.”

The singer is currently on her Eras world tour - you may have heard of it - which is selling out in every city.

The tour has even boosted tourism across regions in the US, with Philadelphia Federal Reserve confirming they have seen the industry be hoisted for the first time since the pandemic.

“Despite the slowing recovery in tourism in the region overall, one contact highlighted that May was the strongest month for hotel revenue in Philadelphia since the onset of the pandemic, in large part due to an influx of guests for the Taylor Swift concerts in the city,” officials said in a statement.

Onwards and upwards, Taylor.
