Netflix's latest documentary, Waco: American Apocalypse, has sent the internet into a complete frenzy.

Viewers don't know what to make of the platform's latest docu-series, which includes never-before-seen material from the 'infamous' 51-day standoff between federal agents and a heavily armed religious group back in the 1990s.

The internet has been extremely riled by one particular interviewee who has since been dubbed 'disgusting' by viewers. Check out the official trailer below:

The immersive three-part Netflix documentary series was released by the streaming platform today (22 March).

Chronicling a 'definitive account' of one of America's craziest events, the series explores what happened in Waco, Texas in 1993, when cult leader David Koresh faced off against the federal government in a 'bloody' 51-day siege.

The first season holds three episodes so far, titled: In the Beginning, Children of God and Fire, and splices a mix of footage from the time itself alongside interviews with various people involved in the ordeal.

The series was released to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the national tragedy and features 'exclusive access' to recently unearthed videotapes filmed inside the FBI's Hostage Negotiation Command Post, the synopsis reveals.

It also includes 'raw news footage' that has 'never' been released to the American public as well as FBI wiretap recordings.

Those quick to watch the three-part series have already taken to social media to share their views on Netflix's latest addition, with many outraged by a singular 'crazy' and 'disgusting' interviewee.

Ex-Waco resident Kathy Schroeder was part of Koresh's cult and has since fiercely defended the cult leader in regards to his alleged sexual relations with underage children.

In the Netflix production, Schroeder candidly says: "People think that a man having sex with a bunch of underaged girls is a crime.

"And in conventional wisdom, this could probably be very well true. However, these weren’t underaged girls because you come of age at 12. All these girls were adults in our belief system," she claimed.

People are calling Kathy Schroeder 'crazy' and 'disgusting'.

One Twitter user wrote: "Yo... The woman in yellow in Waco needs HELP! She be crazy!!!!"

"Did I hear that right?" a second wrote, "this Kathy Schroeder on the new Netflix Waco documentary is absolutely disgusting. Defending David Koresh for sexually abusing girls as young as 12."

"Anyone else watch Waco: American Apocalypse on Netflix and wanna jump though the screen and pound the crap out of the woman in yellow? …. Yeah me too," a third revealed.

Another went on to call the doc 'insane' before writing: "That woman excusing that man having sex with 12 year olds because God said it was cool really gave me the chills because it feels like she still believes it."

Viewers are incredibly disturbed by the doc.

A fifth tweeted: "Watching Waco: American Apocalypse on Netflix. Seven minutes in and my first thoughts are, white America isn’t healthy."

"Watching that Waco documentary on Netflix. Americans are proper nut jobs aren’t they," claimed another, while a sixth added: ""Crazy cult, what a bunch of maniacs."

A final Twitter user stated: "The saddest part of that story is the innocent people they were killed by ATF & FBI."

Waco: American Apocalypse is currently available to stream on Netflix.
