Netflix fans think horror movie that left them 'bothered for days' has the one of the most 'unsettling' scenes ever

Netflix fans think horror movie that left them 'bothered for days' has the one of the most 'unsettling' scenes ever

This specific film is often underrated despite its near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score

Horror films are always an easy watch when you're in a group, however, fear is subjective therefore it can be a rare occurrence when everyone is weirded out by the same film.

And Netflix fans have all agreed that this particular film is more than capable of 'bothering them for days' - though many regarded it as a good kind of creepy.

The 2014 found footage psychological horror film was made by the same producer behind classics such as Paranormal Activity, Sinister and The Purge.

Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass wrote the story, with the former in his directorial debut, while both starred as the only characters in the movie.

So it's a two-man effort.

Despite never having a theatre release, having only being given a video-on-demand and Netflix release the year after its premiere at the South by Southwest film festival, the indie film has received favourable reviews from viewers and critics alike - boasting an impressive score of 91 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

It performed so well in fact, that a sequel was filmed and released in 2017, which has a score of 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, carrying the same weird, unsettling factors as its predecessor.

The film in question is called Creep, and you can view the trailer here:

*Spoilers ahead*

Creep follows Aaron, a struggling videographer, as he takes a job as to travel to a remote cabin to film a video diary for Josef, who says that it is for his unborn child, after he says he has an inoperable brain tumour.

However, as the day goes on, Josef's behaviour becomes more eccentric,

which makes Aaron want to leave, and despite not being able to find his car keys and a slight scuffle, he manages to get out alive.

But Josef continues to stalk him, before offering to make amends at an agreed location - where he murders Aaron from behind with an axe.

This short summary doesn't do the film justice, but there are several unsettling scenes that have left viewers uncomfortable throughout, as the film doesn't rely on jump-scares for its fear factor.

In fact, on a Reddit thread that asked for the most 'disturbing' and 'unsettling' movie scenes that don't rely on gore, a lot of people brought specific scenes up from Creep.

A third also replied: "Oh man this movie is so good! The ending of the first was a jaw dropper! Not many people have seen this movie surprisingly thought the 2nd was decent too"

A fourth said: "This movie bothered me for days after I watched it."

A different user also posted: "That whole movie was done so well, I get weirded out just thinking about some of the scenes…"

While a sixth said Aaron's death got them, adding: " Was not expecting broad daylight to be the...end."

And someone else said that 'all of Creep gets me as well'.

Creep is available to stream now on Netflix.
