Netflix viewers in tears as woman recalls moment she found out husband was on flight MH370

Netflix viewers were stunned by MH370: The Plane That Disappeared.

A woman has recalled the heartbreaking moment she realised her husband might not be coming home after boarding flight MH370.

On 8 March 2014, the Malaysia Airlines flight disappeared from the flight radar.

All 227 passengers and 12 crew members aboard the flight from Kuala Lumpar to Beijing were presumed dead.

Netflix docuseries MH370: The Plane That Disappeared - released earlier this year - details the first-hand accounts of those who lost their loved ones on board, including mum-of-two Danica Weeks.

Hours into the flight, radars were left unable to locate the plane and it was never seen again.

The series takes you through a timeline - from the first moment MH370 went missing - to the eventual dropping of the search in the South Indian Ocean.

Throughout the Netflix documentary are heartbreaking interviews with family members as one woman recalled the moment she found out her husband was missing.

Husband and father-of-two, Paul Weeks was one of the 227 passengers on board.

Weeks' widow Danica opened up about the day her husband left their home in Perth, Australia, to travel to his new job in China - and the moment she was called and alerted something had gone wrong with his flight.

The father had reportedly been hesitant about taking a job so far from home, meaning he'd be away from his family for weeks at a time, but Danica was persistent he should not waste the opportunity.

Danica recalls how there were 'a lot of tears' shed by herself, Paul and their two sons Jack and Lincoln.

In the documentary she says: "The boys blew kisses and said they loved them and they walked out the door… and that was like it was yesterday."

The last communication the family ever had was an email Paul sent just before boarding the flight reading: "You and the boys are my world."

Danica only became aware something had gone wrong when she received a call from a reporter.

The mum said: "I thought what does she want with Paul and she said, 'You haven’t heard?', and I said, 'Heard what?' and she said there had been an incident with the plane.

"I dropped the phone and ran outside screaming."

Danica is one of multiple family members to be featured in the Netflix docuseries, alongside several journalists and scientists.

She added: "I promised him from day dot I would find him and bring him home and I haven’t done that.

"Until I do there will be no peace."

Viewers were left in tears after watching, as one person said: "Done watching MH370 @netflix. These families deserve peace."

"Holding my tears watching MH370 documentary on Netflix," another added.

"Watching flight MH370 on Netflix and I can't stop crying. The tears and emotions surrounding the disappearance of this plane is a lot to take in," a third agreed.
