Top Boy’s final season is now streaming on Netflix

If you are not a massive fan of the heatwave taking over the UK right now, get yourself back inside as there's something new to stream on Netflix right now.

Top Boy: The Final Chapter - aka season five of the show - is available to stream on the popular streaming platform from today (7 September).

While the new season is being labelled as season three by Netflix, there has actually been five seasons of Toy Boy.

The first two seasons of Top Boy launched on Channel 4 first, while a further two series series came later on Netflix.

So while the latest series may be the third on Netflix, it's basically the fifth season overall.

An official synopsis for the latest season on Netflix reads: "Sully’s actions at the end of the last series have rewritten his business rules with Dushane. As new shared problems arise, everything they've built comes under threat from forces outside and within their empire. Can they coexist by the rules of the road they’ve lived by their whole lives in a world that is changing before them? Or can there only be one TOP BOY?"

For those that don't know much about Toy Boy and are wanting to delve into the previous seasons ahead of watching the newest release, the show is set the fictional East London estate of Summerhouse and takes a look at the dangerous world of drug dealing and the lives of those who live in the area.

Once more following the adventures of Dushane and Sully, Top Boy features the a cast including Ashley Walters, Kane Robinson, Simbiatu Ajikawo ‘Little Simz’, Jasmine Jobson and Araloylin Oshunremi.

In a statement announcing the third season of Toy Boy on Netflix, the series' stars Ashley Waters, Kane Robinson said: "While the journeys of Dushane and Sully have remained at the core of the show, the new characters that have entered the world of Top Boy have become a key part of the show’s legacy, representing each new storyline in a raw, authentic way.

"With all this being said and staying true to our original goal, every story must have an ending and so season three will be our finale. A chance to come full circle and end the journey in the right way."
