Full list of 42 TVs Netflix will stop working on leaving thousands unable to view

You may need to change the way you watch your favourite TV shows

A lot of people watch Netflix through the built-in app on their TVs, but it looks like this will be coming to an end, for some.

Not to be dramatic or anything.

According to technology giant Sony, a number of its Bravia-branded TVs are about to lose the ability to stream Netflix through the app, for a reason branded as 'technical limitations' by the company.

All of these television sets were released in 2014, so if you bought it when it was new, your decade-old habits are about to be altered.

Next month, Netflix's official app will no longer be accessibly on certain models - of which there are 42.

Sony states on its website: “Netflix announced that on July 24, 2024, the Netflix app will no longer be supported on some 2014 Sony Bravia LCD TVs due to technical limitations.

“You can continue to use the Netflix app on your TV until July 23, 2024. After this date, it will be removed from the Apps menu."

In the technology world, a decade is a long period of time, with older models just not having the hardware or facilities to run the latest versions of not just Netflix, but other applications too.

Think about the mobile phone you had 2014 - would that be able to do the things your phone does today? Probably not.

Do not worry if your TV is on the fateful list though, because there are solutions to the issue - for example, buy an Amazon Fire TV stick, or something similar.

This essentially plugs into an HDMI port of your TV, connecting to Wi-Fi and allowing you to stream any app your heart desires.

If you're unsure if your TV fits into the category of 'soon to be obsolete' in terms of the streaming platform, you can check the list out below for the model number.

To find this, all you need to do is check the device itself, as the model number will be on the casing.

If this doesn't work, you can go to the settings menu using your remote, but without further ado, here are the affected Sony Bravia TV models from 2014 - rest in peace:
