The new trailer for Westworld III has just dropped.

It's been a long time since we last saw the hit series on our screens but the wait is almost over, with a new season on the horizon.

Kicking off on 16 March, series three finally sees us leave the park - though the way things go in this show, how long for is up for debate.

And according to HBO, it promises to be the most sinister season yet, with the studio labelling it 'a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the birth of a new form of life on Earth'.

This season will also see a number of its stars return, including Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores, Thandie Newton as Maeve, Ed Harris as the Man in Black, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte, and Luke Hemsworth as Stubbs.

Aaron Paul takes up a lead role in the new series of Westworld.

But along with the familiar faces, fans can also expect a few newbies, with Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul taking up a lead role, along with French superstar Vincent Cassel, Scott Mescudi (Need for Speed), and Lena Waithe (Master of None) pitching up.

Last year it was announced that Paul would be starring in the new series of the hit show - and fans were super excited.

One responded to news, tweeting: "Bro you have no idea how pumped I am for this!"

Another added: "Breaking Bad and Westworld are in my top 5 fave series of all time. And now you're crossing over from one to the other!? What the actual f...?!"

It seems people had become less than impressed with Westworld but now their interest has been well and truly spiked, probably the whole point in getting Paul on board.

One said: "I stopped watching Westworld S02 after underwhelming first four episodes. It was pretty much True Detective S02 disappointing level. Now I might finish the season."

Another commented: "Stopped watching midway through season 2. You Sir, are THE reason we will now finish season 2 and DEFINITELY watch season 3 #yeahbitch."

Westworld returns to Sky Atlantic and NOW TV on 16 March.
