Fans are hooked on the new Disney+ Star Wars miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi, set in the not-too-distant past.

We’ve waited 17 long years for fan favourite Ewan McGregor to return to the legendary role of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The first season also brings Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader alongside Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars. But there is some new hope of a second season on the horizon…

When is Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 coming out?

Well, I’m not one to fall for rumours, but Ewan McGregor has given us a pretty strong hint that the so-called one-off six-part series might be longer after all.

While Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy hasn’t confirmed anything yet, McGregor told Entertainment Weekly he’d like to make a return.

And director Deborah Chow, who stunned fans with her work on The Mandalorian, teased the idea to TechRadar, saying she “had a great experience” making the first series, and “certainly wouldn’t be closed” to another. Sounds a lot like it’s on the cards…

Of course, we don’t know the possible release date yet. But given it took three years from being greenlit for the first season to hit our screens, fans may be waiting a while…

Who is in the cast of Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2?

Obviously, we’re in the dark over the exact cast of any possible second season, but we know all the main characters are all alive at the start of Episode IV.

Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy says she would never re-cast a character again after fans were less than pleased with Solo: A Star Wars Story, so some of the actors are bound to reappear.

If a second series did come to light, we would love to see the return of these characters from Season 1:

  • Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi
  • Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader
  • Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars
  • Bonnie Piesse as Beru Lars
  • Rupert Friend as the Grand Inquisitor
  • Grant Feely as young Luke Skywalker

Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 trailer:

No trailer for Season 2 yet, but in case you missed it, the star-studded trailer for the first series is here.
