Images show the abandoned set of Aussie soap Neighbours, which came to an end earlier this year after almost 40 years. You can relive the emotional final scene here:
There was an outcry back in March when it was announced that the long-running soap, which helped launch the careers of numerous stars including Kylie Minogue, Margot Robbie, and Guy Pearce, was being axed.

But despite a reasonably popular online campaign, the show couldn’t be saved and it aired its final episode in July, in which a host of former stars, including Minogue and Pearce, returned for one last time.
Now, images from the abandoned show discarded backdrops, props and old scripts.
Among the photos are shots of the fictional pub The Waterhole, which fans may remember very dramatically blew up in an explosion in a 1993 episode.

We can also take a glimpse inside Erinsborough High School - complete with rusting lockers - and the Lassiters Complex.
Pictures also show the abandoned houses on Ramsay Street, the cul-de-sac where the characters lived throughout its 37-year run - and inside number 22, which was home to Terese Willis and Glen Donnelly (played by Rebekah Elmaloglou and Richard Huggett) when the show came to a close.
In another snap, you can see scripts belonging to actress Georgie Stone, who played Mackenzie Hargreaves, and a cardboard cut out of Stefan Dennis, who played ruthless businessman Paul Robinson.

The show's end was announced back in March, with Neighbour’s official Twitter account saying: “We are so sorry to say that after nearly 37 years and almost 9000 episodes broadcast we have to confirm that Neighbours will cease production in June.
“Following the loss of our key broadcast partner in the UK and despite an extensive search for alternative funding, we simply have no option but to rest the show.

“To our amazing, loyal fans, we know this is a huge disappointment, as it is to all of us on the team. We thank you for all your messages and support and promise to end the show on an incredible high. From here on, we are celebrating Neighbours.”
During an appearance on Late Night With Seth Myers back in June, Minogue explained why she decided to return to the show for its final episode.
She said: “When I was 19, I finished school, signed up for the Dole, cause I thought, ‘I’m never going to get a job’, but I got this role on Neighbours.”

Minogue continued: “They’re finishing the show, and there was quite a bit of pressure for me to come back, so I shot my scenes.”
