A real life Stranger Things experience is coming to the UK this summer, promising 'immersive sets and impressive special effects’ packed full of 80s nostalgia.

Stranger Things: The Experience lets fans ‘be the hero’ by unlocking their own powers to save Hawkins alongside their favourite characters.

The one-hour immersive experience - which kicks off at London's Troubadour Brent Cross Studios this August - sees you begin in Hawkins Lab to ‘take center stage in an exclusive Stranger Things storyline’, volunteering as a test subject to participate in a new study.

You’ll then get to ‘step into the neon world’ of a ‘Mix-Tape’ experience, which bills itself as a throwback to the 80s with ‘delicious themed food and drinks, fun photo ops, Stranger Things merchandise, interactive performers, and radical party vibes’.

Its website says: “Ever wanted to be the protagonist of a Stranger Things adventure? Your chance has arrived. Stranger Things: The Experience throws you headfirst into your favorite show - join Eleven, Dustin, Mike, Lucas, Max, and Will for a very special episode starring… you!

“Venture inside Hawkins Lab for a 1-hour immersive experience featuring a brand-new Stranger Things storyline, then explore an 80’s-themed Mix-Tape medley with food & drinks, special merchandise, photo ops, and much more.”

Fans will be able to step into their favourite Netflix show.

The Mix-Tape experience features nostalgic shops and iconic locations from the show, including Scoops Ahoy, Family Video and the Palace Arcade.

There’s also a Stranger Things Bar for food and cocktails inspired by the series, while photo ops will let you pose for snaps in the Byers’ living room, in an 80s-style photo booth or with a Demogorgon.

Tickets cost £29.50 per person for those aged 5-17, or £49 per person for those over 18, with group bundle packages available for reduced rates.

There are also VIP tickets available, which include 'admission to the Hawkins Lab immersive experience and the free-roam Mix-Tape medley of locations + a complimentary drink, a special Stranger Things gift, and front-of-the-line treatment'.

Who wouldn't want a photo opportunity with a Demogorgon?

User reviews on the event’s website describe the experience as a ‘must-see for fans’, with one person writing: “Perfect for all fans of Stranger Things. Loved the special effects and the shopping experience afterwards. They did an amazing job.”

Another said: “Excellent immersive experience whether or not you’re a fan of Stranger Things! This is a great time with friends or a loved one. It’s like iMax meets an escape room. And after it’s over, you can hang out in the 80s with great good, drinks and merchandise. I highly recommend this!”
