Robbie Williams admits he would rather 'eat a tangerine' than have sex with his wife

The singer has said there's 'no sex after marriage'

Robbie Williams has said there’s ‘no sex after marriage’ and suggested he’s as happy eating a tangerine as he is having sex with his wife, Ayda Field. That’s quite the admission, eh?

The former Take That star got hitched to Ayda, 43, back in 2010, and the pair have four kids together - but he’s revealed that things have certainly slowed down in the bedroom in more recent years.

Robbie, 49, told the Sun that at one point, he had been on testosterone tablets to treat depression, which led to him and his other-half having an ‘incredible’ sex life, but explained that he had ditched them due to his previous addiction problems.

However, although his libido has calmed down as he’s grown older, the singer insists that it’s not a problem for him and Ayda, and that they’re on the same page about the matter.

He told the publication: “No sex in a marriage is only a problem if you’re on different pages; if one person wants it, and the other doesn’t; if you have different expectations or requirements.”

Recalling the period of his life he was on testosterone, he went on: “But really, everyone knows there is no sex after marriage. That’s just the way it is. I was on testosterone for a while but, because I’m an addict, that had to stop. I got these massive square shoulders and started to look like a doorman. It wasn’t a good look.

“But the sex we had when I was on testosterone was incredible; it was all the time. We were insatiable. It goes to show how into each other we really are, though, because when I was on it, we couldn’t take our hands off each other.

“I miss that. That was a fun period. Sometimes now, though, Ayda will turn to me on the sofa and say, ‘We should do sex,’ and I’m sitting there eating a tangerine and just sort of shrug. So, ya know, sometimes we try.”

His wife agreed, stressing that to her ‘intimacy is the important, meaningful side of love’.

She went on to explain that while the pair might not be ripping each others’ clothes off every night, they are still ‘always cuddling and kissing’ and that they will hold hands and cuddle up while watching TV.

Summing up their relationship, she added: “Me and Rob are on the same page. We are happy.”
