The Disney+ Christmas ad has got us feeling all the feels

Nothing gets us in the festive mood quite like a Christmas ad

This year, Disney+ absolutely understood the assignment. They've dropped their holiday campaign, and it’s got us feeling all nostalgic by celebrating the thing they do best: creating a lifetime of great stories that stick with us.

The campaign is rooted deep in Disney’s 100-year history, showcasing how their great storytelling has become part of our actual lives. It’s all about those moments we connect with on screen and the characters we never forget, weaving a little bit of wonder and charm into our every day.

The ad follows the life of one woman. It starts off with her as a little kid, totally mesmerised with Mickey Mouse, playing on video cassette. Jump forward a decade, and she’s the teen catching Home Alone with her mates at the cinema. Fast-forward again to uni days, and it’s all about sneaking in a Modern Family Christmas special on her laptop, followed by a post night-out recovery binge of Grey's Anatomy, all huddled up with her housemates.

Now, as an adult, she streams The Bear on her phone on the train when she locks eyes with a guy watching the episode over her shoulder. Little does she know that this small but meaningful episode leads her to the man who she falls in love with, starts a family with, and of course snuggles up on the sofa with, as we see them diving into the latest series of Shōgun. Finally, we see her own little girl, about the same age she was at the start, watching Mickey once again, showing us how Disney+ have the greatest stories that stay with us forever.

This season’s must-streams

When it's freezing and dark outside, and your place is warm, sparkly, and smelling of party food, one of the best parts of the festive season is sinking into the sofa in front of the telly.

So what’s Disney+ serving up this year? Whether you’re chasing those nostalgic festive classics, hunting for new originals, or trying to catch the latest blockbusters, it’s all there.

If you’re looking for a new addiction, you need to check out the new, high-stakes legal drama, All’s Fair, which follows a fierce, all-female law firm specialising in high-profile divorces. It’s pure girl boss energy. For fantasy fans, Percy Jackson and The Olympians Season 2 is dropping, and for pure, unadulterated holiday fun, the A Very Jonas Christmas Movie is a musical, feel-good movie all about festive family chaos.

You can also catch the huge latest blockbusters like the live-action Lilo & Stitch and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, alongside the ultimate list of festive favourites. Go for the essential Home Alone, the cosy comfort of The Holiday, or settle the eternal debate: is Die Hard really a Christmas movie? (We vote yes).

We’ve all got our favourite festive classic, the shows or movies we return to year after year that just screams Christmas - so what’s yours? Or is this year the year where you start a new tradition?

Whatever you choose, Disney+ is packed with a lifetime of great stories waiting to be watched in their ever-growing library of new TV shows, blockbuster movies, and exclusive Originals.

Stream all of these and more on Disney+ this Christmas.
