The Veronicas call it quits to chase solo careers in simultaneous sister showdown

The Veronicas call it quits to chase solo careers in simultaneous sister showdown

They said '4eva'... and obviously did not mean it.

Aussie music icons The Veronicas have announced they are parting ways after 18 years of making music together.

Clearly they weren't serious when they said '4-ever'. And our hearts are breaking.

On Monday (September 6) everyone’s favourite twins Jess and Lisa Origliasso revealed that the band is no more.

Aside from the Olsen twins, of course.

According to Daily Mail, the two are set to both forge solo careers after rumours are swirling that the sisters had a falling out after they posted a cryptic message that read 'Love knows not its own depth, until the hour of separation.’

We’re gonna have to enlist Tom Hanks to crack this code, da Vicini style.

Lisa, also took to her Instagram, teasing the launch of her revamp under the name ‘Lisa Veronica’.

She captioned the video: “I’m going solo LISA VERONICA dropping September 7th 2022.”

Of course, many users were in shock as one wrote: “YOUR DOING THIS TO US HOLY S**T LIS!!”

Another said: “WHAT.”

A third commented: “Congratulations.”

While another wrote: “OHMIGOSH YAS QUEEN.”

However, this isn’t the first time the sisters have feuded.

Back in 2019, the two reportedly didn’t speak for 18 months sparking rumours the band had broken up.

However, the sisters eventually made amends, with Lisa telling News Corp: 'We as twin sisters have a bond that cannot really be explained to anybody else.

'We feel it in the deepest parts of who we are, and even in hard times… I guess somewhere we always knew that. But we went through a very difficult time where we weren't communicating.'

While details are still emerging of the most recent band break-up, one thing remains clear, we will definitely see a colossal sister solo showdown, and we can’t wait to watch this epic battle unfold.

However, this makes for one hell of an awkward family Christmas.
