After Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd released his brand new 2022 album Dawn FM, fans subsequently want to know how much he’s worth.
The Weeknd - real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye - started out his music career homeless, posting on YouTube and is now a household name who has headlined the Superbowl.
The Weeknd is estimated to be worth an eye-watering $200 million in 2022.
The singer-songwriter has gone from strength to strength since his Hot 100 debut alongside Drake in 2012. In his career so far, he’s collected three Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, nineteen Billboard Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, 15 Juno Awards, and an Academy Award nomination.
In 2012, The Weeknd established his record label XO, which is a subsidiary of Republic Records.
As well as repeatedly releasing bestselling albums, The Weeknd has cashed in on brand partnerships and endorsements, including condom companies, e-cigarette manufacturers, and Marvel. He’s also one of the ‘faces’ of Apple Music and he’s also been a brand ambassador for Puma. In addition, The Weeknd has his own fashion label - XO.
Born on 16th February 1990, The Weeknd will turn 32 on his birthday in 2022.
The Weeknd is said to be 1.73m (5ft, 8.1”) tall. He’s known for being in an on and off relationship with the leggy supermodel, Bella Hadid, who’s around 1.75m (5ft, 8.9”) tall.
The Weeknd has also been linked to Selena Gomez, Angelina Jolie and Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalia, among others.
The Weeknd’s new album Dawn FM was released on Friday 7th January 2022.
