Hafthor Björnsson has stepped into the spotlight in recent moments, given the ever-rising tension between him and Eddie Hall, and of course, their upcoming boxing fight.

The professional strongman was crowned the World’s Strongest Viking in Norway in 2015, after carrying a 10-metre long log for five steps - beating a 1,000-year-old record in the country.

Thor also famously played the role of Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane in the fourth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones in 2013, his first acting role. 

In May 2020, the heavyweight athlete deadlifted a record-breaking 501 kg under World’s Strongest Man rules, beating Eddie Hall’s previous record of 500 kg.

Hafthor Björnsson is married to Kelsey Henson, a Canadian model and fitness expert.

The couple tied the knot in October 2018, having told fans on Instagram with a sweet post which read: “It is with great pleasure that I now get to call Kelsey Morgan Henson my wife!"

Thor added: “I get to hold this beautiful woman through thick and thin for the rest of our lives! I’m so excited for all of the future adventures we will tackle side by side.”

The pair welcomed a baby boy on 26th September 2020, while Thor is also father to daughter Theresa Líf from a previous relationship with Thelma Björk Steinmann. 

The Sun previously reported that the heavyweight athlete and Henson met at the diner in which she worked while he was attending a competition in the town. The pair seem to be inseparable ever since they met.
