All Five Seasons Of Prison Break Are Coming To Netflix Australia

Netflix Australia and New Zealand has just dropped an information bomb on us today.

The streaming service has announced that all five seasons of the incredible Prison Break will be landing on the platform this weekend.

The amazing series, which originally debuted in 2005, focuses on two brothers, Lincoln Burrows (played by Dominic Purcell) and Michael Scofield (played by Wentworth Miller).

Scofield devises an elaborate plan to help his brother escape prison and clear his name after Burrows was sentenced to death for a crime he says he didn't commit.

The show has been nominated for a slew of awards, including Golden Globes, People's Choice Awards, Saturn Awards, Television Critics Association Awards, Satellite Awards and others. So you'll soon be able to see what all the hype was about.

We said goodbye to the team Fox River State Penitentiary in 2009, before it was revived in 2017.

There were plans to create a sixth season, however that had to sadly be abandoned.

Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier revealed: "There's no plan right now to revive Prison Break or any of the other franchises, but when the creators come with a story that they think is the right time to tell, we are so ready to listen because those are some franchises of which I'm so proud and feel so fortunate that they're in our stable."

But he didn't rule out potentially having the storyline rebooted in some way.

"Prison Break, 24, O.C., before this 90210, we happen to have some iconic IP that people want to see more of," Collier said.

"It's such a blessing but the right way to do it I think is very much like the way 90210 came together, with the right people at the right time, the right people on both sides of the camera."

So, never say never.

Netflix Australia and New Zealand also made the revelation that seven seasons of Homeland will be brought back to the streaming platform. It was previously available to binge watch, however it was removed without explanation.

Thankfully, it's back on this weekend.
