If you're going to take gym advice from anyone, then bodybuilding supremo and former Mr Universe Arnold Schwarzenegger is probably someone you should listen to.
You might think that someone of Arnie's status would have his own personal gym at home, filled with gold-plated equipment, but no. He explains to us that part of his training regime for the latest Terminator film included cycling to the gym in the morning.
If you're into working out, the likelihood is that other people's habits in the gym will get on your wick - and in that respect you're no different from the man himself, who was famously a member of Gold's Gym in Venice Beach, California at the start of his career.
The 72-year-old actor is more than happy to tell LADbible about the annoying things other people do in the gym, offering this one for starters: "When they do half a rep, or when they do chin-ups and they just go half way up.
"Or if they do a pull-down exercise or curls and they just sit there and do half a curl. You have to concentrate when you do everything.
"You've got to feel the bicep, you've got to squeeze it and do it the right way because then that rep really has an effect, otherwise it doesn't have any effect and therefore you're wasting your time.
"It drives me nuts when I see them in the gym. I've been seeing this stuff for 50 years because I was always a fanatic about doing the movement the right way - don't cheat on yourself, just do the exercise the right way.
"Even if you have a trainer and they don't look, you should still do it the right way. Those are the kind of things I see in the gym.
"But sometimes I feel comfortable enough to walk over to someone and just say, 'I think you would be better off if you did full reps and if you do them the proper way.'"
Imagine the actual Terminator coming over to you and telling you to stop slacking - you'd bloody do it, wouldn't you?
But Arnie doesn't blame the average gym goer for having a bit of dodgy technique.
He continues: "The saddest story in the gym business is that the instructors, a lot of them suck. They are teaching their students horrible things.
"I see them teaching them the wrong exercises or the wrong positions, the wrong movements, which injures a lot of the clients and the people that are working out and I feel sorry for them.
"There ought to be a school for trainers, not just the theoretical stuff, but the practical stuff to take them through and show them how to really exercise."
Seems pretty comprehensive. And the Predator star isn't done there, as he adds: "Also what I hate in the gym is when [other people] cheat on exercise - they cheat on themselves, they don't cheat on anyone else."
So there you have it, LADs. Stop being lazy b******s - you're only cheating yourself.
