THIS SHOULD BE A WARNING THAT FRIENDS SPOILERS LIE AHEAD BUT YOU PROBABLY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS A MILLION TIMES OVER...

Everyone's got their opinion on whether Ross Geller was in the right or wrong when he went a slept with a woman called Chloe following his break with Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) but David Schwimmer himself has tried to settle the debate:

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Schwimmer revealed where he stands, telling the host: "Yeah, it's not even a question. They were on a break."

When Fallon asked the 53-year-old actor what is regularly yelled at him in the street, he said: "Obviously there's going to be those people that feel compelled to yell 'pivot' or 'you were on a break'.

"People are so passionately divided on whether or not [Ross and Rachel] were 'on a break'."

The Friends actor was on the show to talk about the reunion episode which he says could begin filming as early as August - depending on the coronavirus restrictions.

He explained how the one-off episode will feature 'special bits' - although he didn't expand on what that might mean.

Speaking on the chat show, he said: "It's supposed to happen maybe in August, the middle of August, but honestly we're going to wait and see another week or two if we all determine it's really safe enough to do. And if not, then we'll wait until it's safe."

It will air in the US on HBO Max and will see all six of the main characters back together for the episode.

Co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry will join Schwimmer for the reunion, which was originally supposed to launch in May, but was put on hold due to the pandemic.
