Merry Christmas ya filthy animals

There's just over six months until Christmas so, of course, it's the perfect time to binge watch a bunch of festive movies, right?

And you're in luck, because Hallmark movies is putting on a whopping 17-day Christmas movie marathon in July. Well, it's hardly the weirdest thing to happen in 2020, is it?

Hallmark

The network's annual Keepsake Christmas movie marathon will feature 17 days of back-to-back original festive flicks. The whole thing is pretty much guaranteed to make you even more confused about what day it is.

Starting off with Christmas at Dollywood on Friday 10 July, there's a total of 188 movies including titles such as Double Holiday, Christmas Next Door, A Shoe Addict's Christmas and The Nine Lives of Christmas, it finishes on the evening of Sunday 26 July with Holiday Date.

Although it might be a bit early to be thinking about your baubles and tinsel, some people are pretty delighted with the news, with one social media user posting: "Man, I know it's cheesy, but it couldn't come at a better time, honestly." What? Not even December?

A second joked: "I knew I should have put my tree up during lockdown."

And a third adding: "This is what we need a little Christmas joy."

This isn't the first time Hallmark has attempted to spread a little festive cheer this year, in March it ran Christmas films over a three-day period shortly after lockdown was announced.

And, Hallmark isn't the only channel that tries to launch the Christmas period early - last year, the Sony Movies Christmas channel premiered on 10 September and ran right through to December with 24-hour-a-day Christmas flicks.

The channel even featured themed weekends such as 'Bah Humbug', 'Christmas Animals', 'Santa Sunday' and 'Christmas Comedy'.

They even included an 'emotional' Christmas film every day at 7pm, in case the Christmas cheer got too much for you and you felt like crying your eyes out.
