Kiosk Kev's Welsh cousin may have been rumbled

I'm A Celebrity viewers reckon they've sussed the identity of Kiosk Cledwyn.

The cousin of Aussie version Kiosk Kev appeared for the first time in last night's episode, which saw the campers take on their first Castle Coin challenge.

Usually, we'd see them do their Dingo Dollar challenges in Australia, but of course - things a bit different this year.

Given the choice of Welsh cakes or Twiglets, Giovanna and Hollie completed the challenge and handed their cash over to the joyless old chap behind the counter - but viewers immediately started to speculate over who it was that played him.

Loads of people on Twitter thought he looked like TV presenter Dick Strawbridge.

One wrote: "Is Dick Strawbridge moon lighting as Kiosk Cledwyn"

Another said: "Kiosk Cledwyn Face of Dick Strawbridge Voice of Rhod Gilbert"

While a third asked: "Has anyone seen @dickstrawbridge and Kiosk Cledwyn in the same room recently?"

The Sun reported that a source said: "Obviously flying Kiosk Kev, who is played by a farmer called Mark Herlaar, to the UK was a no-go so they've cast Kiosk Cledwyn.

"The name is a bit of an in-joke and is a nod to Cledwyn Hughes, who was the Secretary of State for Wales in the late Sixties."

But although things are obviously very different this year - namely, the celebs in 2020 got the absolute short straw and instead of flying off to Aus, ended up in North Wales (not that there's anything wrong with it) - people are really missing their fix of Kev.

However, viewers clearly started to pine for old Kev after a tribute to him was revealed in Ye Olde Shoppe.

Said tribute is a picture of the beardy bloke lounging on the beach, with the words 'Good Luck' written across it.

Judging by the response on social media, it seems the photo was enough to make people long for a return to a normal life and a normal I'm A Celeb with the austere Aussie:

Others speculated that Kiosk Kev might be on furlough now, while many thought the producers of the show missed a trick by not replacing him with Nessa from Gavin & Stacey (Ruth Jones).

I'd be inclined to agree, to be honest with you.
