ITV Announce Gordon Gino And Fred's Road Trip Christmas Special Show

ITV Announce Gordon Gino And Fred's Road Trip Christmas Special Show

Gordon Ramsay, Gino D'Acampo and Fred Sirieix are hitting the road again for a festive edition of their hugely popular Road Trip show, ITV has announced.

Entitled Desperately Seeking Santa, the three amigos will be hitting the trail once again, this time headed for Lapland in the hopes of meeting Kris Kringle himself.

The mission this time is to deliver a letter from Gino's either-year-old daughter Mia to Santa Claus, and we can expect the usual fun and games from the trio along the way.

As is so often the case with shows that involve these three together, there are going to be some thrills and spills along the way.

As well as meeting Christmas' main man - apart from Jesus, obviously - they'll head for a Finnish sauna, and chow down on some reindeer meat with Finland's indigenous Sami people.

In more a more traditional segment, Gino will offer some advice for everyone trying to make the perfect Christmas turkey this year.

This time, it appears as if it's Gordon's turn to lead the whole gang astray.

Announcing the show, ITV said: "After Gino led them to the deserts of Morocco for last year's mis-adventure, Gordon is determined that they celebrate the season properly this time, so has arranged a boys' trip away before the madness of a family Christmas kicks in, to the ultimate winter wonderland and the official home of Santa."

One of the nice things about the show is that the guys themselves seem to genuinely enjoy their various adventures and misadventures.

Fred recently described their getaways as 'trips of a lifetime'.

Well, they're certainly memorable, that's for sure.

Speaking to The Guardian, Sirieix added: "I'd love to go out and film another season and visit new places, but I think it'll be a while before we can do that,

"I've never been to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia or Vietnam, so they would be incredible to visit. I'd also love to go back to South America, where I travelled when I was younger."

Yeah, it seems like we'll all probably have to wait a while before we can do any serious travelling again, so why not wile away the Christmas period living vicariously through others who have actually managed to get away during this wretched year?

If that sounds good to you, Desperately Seeking Santa will air on ITV at 9pm on Wednesday 16 December.
