Jamie Lynn Spears has said there could be a Zoey 101 reboot on the cards, and it will be aimed at a more 'mature' audience, so you won't even have to feel embarrassed about watching it.

We last seen Zoey Brooks and the other students of Pacific Coast Academy all the way back in 2008.

Although there were only four seasons of the show, it made a big impact on viewers, with many fans clamouring for a reboot or one-off special for years.

Now, more than a decade later, Spears, 29, has confirmed she would be more than happy to do a reboot and that talks with Nickelodeon are in 'baby stages'. If a reboot does go ahead, it will be geared towards the original fans, who are now grown-ups of course, so it might not be back on Nickelodeon.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Spears said of a potential reboot: "Everything and anything is on the table, whether that's a movie or a series. In all of the discussions I've had with Nickelodeon - which are in baby stages, by the way - the main thing is figuring out the right home for the reboot.

"We couldn't do it justice by putting it back on Nickelodeon, because our fanbase has grown into young adults like me, 29 or around the same age.

"We want to tell stories about where the characters are now. We want to connect with the fans and touch on topics that are impacting millennials, so it would have to be aged up and be more mature."

When asked what she thinks her character would be up to now she said she reckons Zoey would be 'in charge of something' and 'a boss of some type' and said that its most likely Zoey and Chase (played by Sean Flynn) would have 'some type of tangled love story'.

Although there's nothing set in concrete at the minute, Spears seems fairly certain the reboot will materialise, adding: "I really can't wait to get the ball rolling - once quarantine is over, of course."
