Little Britain will be dropping a brand new sketch next week for BBC fundraiser The Big Night In.

It's been almost a decade since Matt Lucas and David Walliams have teamed up to play their well-known and very quotable characters, including Lou and Andy, Vicky Pollard and Marjorie Dawes.

Now, the pair will be back on our screens in a special fundraiser on the BBC, which will also see Catherine Tate reprise her character Lauren the Schoolgirl and appear alongside her former Doctor Who cast-mate David Tennant.

Lucas recently revealed he and Walliams would love to take part in a Little Britain reunion, but were unsure how it would look. The show begun life as a radio show, so Lucas mentioned a podcast could happen.

He told The One Show: "[David Walliams and I] message each other most days and send each other those silly memes that everybody sends.

"We are getting on well and we are thinking about what we can do with Little Britain. But we don't know what it will be.

"Could it be a podcast? Could it be a series on TV? Could it be a stage show?"

Speaking to Radio 2, Lucas said the pair would 'love' to bring Little Britain back to TV 'in some way and at some point' - before confirming they had spoken to Netflix.

So, this sketch could just be the start.

The new skit will form part of a full night of entertainment, which will be hosted by Matt Baker, Zoe Ball, Lenny Henry, Davina McCall and Paddy McGuinness.

In a statement, the BBC said: "The Big Night In will celebrate the acts of kindness, humour and the spirit of hope and resilience that is keeping the nation going during the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic with a special night of programming for BBC One.

"This is the first time the BBC's biggest charitable partners, BBC Children in Need and Comic Relief, have come together and the aim of the evening is to celebrate and reward those going the extra mile to support their communities in these troubled times."

The Big Night In is on BBC One on Thursday 23 April at 7pm.
