Netflix has dropped the trailer for its new docuseries Fear City: New York vs Mafia:
The three-part show from the producers of Don't F**k With Cats looks back to the 1970s and '80s when 'Five Families' made up the New York mafia.

They were the Bonanno, Colombo, Gambino, Genovese and Luccese families and they held a powerful, and seemingly insurmountable, grip on the city.
The docuseries follows the incredible story of the history-making organised crime investigation and prosecution brought against the mob bosses.
Interviews throughout Fear City feature law enforcement officials, ex-mafia associates and others, as light is shed on how the mafia's control of unions, high-rise construction and other industries netted billions for organised crime.

According to Netflix, the show will have previously unheard surveillance recordings, news footage and archival material, while new interviews and reenactments paint a shocking and captivating portrait of this 'Golden Era of the Mob.'
Executive producers include Dimitri Doganis, Adam Hawkins, Jon Liebman and Bart Layton. Layton, Doganis and Hawkins are producing on behalf of RAW, the company behind the Netflix sensation Don't F**k With Cats, while Liebman will produce on behalf of Brillstein Entertainment.
It seems fans are already excited for the release of Fear City with one pointing out: "Good timing as everyone just finished binging The Sopranos in lockdown."
Another said: "Don't even need to watch the trailer to know this is getting devoured," while a third added: "Yes yes yes f**king yessss my kinda documentaries."
Fear City director Sam Hobkinson told Rolling Stone: "I grew up in the '70s and '80s in the UK. For me, New York was a mythical place - violent and exciting.

"You wouldn't go there, because everyone said it was too dangerous - and for that reason, it was exotic. So this was an opportunity to tell a panoramic tale of New York, from the wiseguys on the streets all the way up to the lawmakers in City Hall, at this most dramatic point in its history.
"Most mob stories are told from the point of view of the mobsters but we decided the main thread of the narrative would be the FBI investigation.
"Then, generically, it becomes a techno-spy thriller with all the bugging and surveillance. Our incredible team of researchers managed to unearth amazing surveillance tapes that haven't been heard before and hundreds of photographs that haven't been seen."
