If you're like most people - and most people are like most people - you've probably exhausted the vast array of films and TV series that Netflix has on offer during this period of quarantine, social distancing and self-isolation.
But don't worry, there's a brand new drama coming to the streaming service that should help fill the void. Created by Shonda Rhimes - the brains behind the successful series Grey's Anatomy - new true crime series Inventing Anna will tell the real life story of con artist Anna Sorokin.
Sorokin was a Russian-born criminal mastermind and fraudster who conned New York hotels and wealthy acquaintances by pretending to be a pretended to be a German heiress called Anna Delvey.
Born in Russia in 1991, Sorokin moved to New York in 2013, telling acquaintances she had a €60 million trust fund overseas but convincing them to pay large amounts of money for trips they had taken together.

Inevitably, her life of crime and deception caught up with her, and in 2019 she was convicted of multiple counts of attempted grand larceny, theft of services and larceny in the second degree.
Sorokin is now serving a four to 12 year prison sentence. She was also fined $24,000, and ordered to pay restitution of approximately $199,000.
She'll also face deportation to Germany after serving her sentence. Needless to say, it's got the makings of a thrilling TV series.

As yet, there's no release date for the series, but it's being directed by The Devil Wears Prada's David Frankel and will focus on the relationship between Delvey/Sorokin and Jessica Pressler, the journalist who wrote the New York Magazine article that has inspired the series.
Julia Garner (Ozark, Dirty John) will play Delvey, and the series also features Anna Chlumsky, Katie Lowes, Laverne Cox, Alexis Floyd and Arian Moayed.
The promo for the show offers up this description: "A journalist with a lot to prove investigates the case of Anna Delvey, the Instagram-legendary German heiress who stole the hearts of New York's social scene - and stole their money as well. But is Anna New York's biggest con woman or is she simply the new portrait of the American dream?

Colour us intrigued.
