The tattoo artist who has worked on Shia LaBeouf has shared footage showing the full extent of the ink he got for his new role in The Tax Collector.

Artist Bryan Ramirez, who works at Reservoir Tattoo Studio in Los Angeles, shared snaps of the work he did on LaBeouf's torso alongside a photo of LaBeouf in character.

Posting back in February last year, Ramirez wrote: "Some people ask is Shia LaBeouf tattoo real? Yes it's pretty real we started this back when we were filming the movie Holes.

"On going sessions on this chest piece thanks for the trust on such a meaningful tattoo of your mom and pops. Stay tuned for the movies this guy's got coming this year can't wait to see much love homie."

In a more recent post, Ramirez thanked the 34-year-old star for going to him for his ink.

He wrote: "Shia grew up in Echo Park and came back here to give back to his community by getting this tattoo. He could have gone anywhere, to some of the biggest names, but he decided to keep it real and took his time to work with me and the Reservoir. Thank you for the trust and opportunity."

In the upcoming flick The Tax Collector LaBeouf plays a character called Creeper, a man who collects taxes for Los Angeles gangs on behalf of a crime lord called the Wizard, and as you can see from the pictures, he's got the word tattooed right across his stomach.

Although it's unclear if Ramirez was the artist behind that particular inking or not - he did do several of the others including the figures of a woman and a clown.

The Tax Collector executive producer David Ayer, who previously worked with LaBeouf on 2014 movie Fury, praised the star's commitment in an interview with slashfilm.com earlier this year.

He said: "He's one of the best actors I've worked with, and he's the most committed to body and soul. He had a tooth pulled on Fury, and then on Tax Collector, he got his whole chest tattooed. So, he kind of goes all in, and I've never known anyone that committed."

Yep, you can say that again, there's not many jobs I'd be willing to rip my teeth out for.
