Spider-Man Cast Troll Fans With Three Different Film Titles

Let's just call it Spider-Man 3

As Spidey fans wait patiently for a third instalment, the cast have had the cheek to taunt them with numerous presumably fake film titles.

Tom Holland - aka Spidey - shared a snap on Instagram alongside the caption: "So excited to announce the new Spider-Man title.

"Can't wait for you lot to see what we have been up to. Love from Atlanta."

Along with a still from the movie, he shared an image of the title Spider-Man: Phone Home.

'OK, they're going with an ET vibe, whatever,' fans thought.

But then co-star Jacob Batalon went and shared an entirely different title.

In his Insta post, he said: "We're so excited to share the TITLE of our new movie!! Swipe right for the big reveal!!

"Also enjoy this exclusive still from the movie, just an extra gift from us."

However, when fans did swipe right, it wasn't Spider-Man: Phone Home they were presented with, but Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker.

And just in case there was any remaining doubt about what was going on here, Zendaya then got involved.

"So excited to announce the new Spider-Man title. So proud of this one...FOS is back!" she said, before sharing the title Spider-Man: Home Slice.

So until you see it on the side of a bus, I wouldn't believe any titles being bandied about. Particularly not by Holland, who has admitted he has no idea what the film is even about.

The actor was talking about how things were progressing with the long-awaited third instalment, when he admitted that he's not quite sure.

Speaking to Esquire Magazine earlier this month, the 24-year-old said: "I honestly have no idea what this film is about and I'm eight weeks into shooting it."

But he was able to put to bed rumours that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield - who previously portrayed Peter Parker - would be popping up for a couple of cameos in the new movie.

He told the publication: "No, no, they will not be appearing in this film.

"Unless they have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me.

"But as of yet, no. It'll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we've been making."

Spider-Man: Phone Home/Home-Wrecker/Home Slice is currently due to be released on 17 December.
