The Gavin And Stacey Christmas Trailer Has Dropped

It's nearly time to get in front of the TV on December 25 for the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special and the BBC has just dropped the trailer for the eagerly anticipated festive episode.

Hot on the heels of the first official photograph release, the trailer is bound to build up excitement all round.

Starting at Pam and Mick's pad, Smithy is the first to grace our screens when Gavlar answers the door before the pair start to perform a rendition of Elton John's 'Step Into Christmas'. Joined quickly by Gavin's parents - obviously.

The rest of the minute-long trailer shows Smithy's iconic blue Volvo pulling up outside Gwen's in good old Barry. Of course, Nessa makes an appearance as well as Dave Coaches and, arguably the one we were all waiting for - Uncle Bryn.

Replying to the BBC's video, one fan wrote: "Can't wait, and maybe we will get some closure of that fishing trip.."

Another commented: "I've actually never been this excited this is going to be amazing," with a third adding: "Is it normal for someone to be getting butterflies and tearing up over a trailer?? I'm LIVING!!"

The Gavin and Stacey reunion was announced back in May, when co-creator James Corden shared a photo of the script.

Filming started in July, but it wasn't until today that we were given the sneak peek at the forthcoming episode, which airs on Christmas Day.

Alison Steadman, who plays the Gavin's doting mum Pam, gushed about reuniting with the cast in an interview with OK! magazine ahead of the highly anticipated Christmas Day special.

The 73-year-old said: "It was brilliant. It was so good to be back on Barry Island! I really was quite nervous about it because expectations are so high.

"I thought, 'Can I do it again? Can I get the character back properly?' But as soon as we were all back together it was just like a family reunion. At the end we were all really sad to say goodbye."
