Nigel Farage will be exempt from some of the Bushtucker trials on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

This year's lineup for the hit ITV show finally dropped last week and viewers will be placing their bets on who is going to crumble first.

From the dreaded eating trials, to being drowned by bugs, the horrific challenges these celebs will face is why viewers keep coming back for more.

The group of famous faces heading to Australia will include Fred Sirieix, Frankie Dettori, Nella Rose, Tony Bellew, Josie Gibson, Nick Pickard, Jamie-Lynn Spears, Danielle Harold, Sam Thompson, Marvin Humes and Grace Dent.

However, this year's controversial pick is politician Farage, who is seemingly following in the footsteps of Matt Hancock.

It's a decision that has caused many people to refuse to watch the show because of him.

But before the new season kicks off on Sunday (19 November), the former UKIP leader has revealed that he will not take part in some of the Bushtucker trials.

"Well, anything involving weightlifting, I'd be out because I've obviously had some quite serious physical injuries and neck reconstructions and goodness knows what else," Farage told The Sun.

"So they are fully aware that I'm a little bit damaged when it comes to bodily structure. But having said that, I can still do most things.

"Well, you know what?" he said. "I'll just do my best. It's all I can do.

"I doubt that any of the trials are actually going to kill me, although I don't think they'll all be a bag of fun.

"But hey look, I signed up for this. It's in for a penny in for a pound. So let's go."

Farage has cheated death a number of times and suffers from a number of chronic injuries.

In his 20s he survived cancer and was once ran over by a car.

Also, while campaigning for the General Election in 2010, Farage was involved in a plane crash and sustained serious neck injuries in the accident.

He was forced to undergo major surgery several years later.

Earlier this week, Farage joined up with the rest of the contestants in Brisbane, Australia.

He added: "The downsides – well look. It could be a complete, total car crash. A disaster.

"I might finish up having a fight with somebody – who knows! I might get voted out on the first round, I don’t know.

"But I know that things could go very badly wrong and you’re on camera 24 hours a day, seven days a week for up to 22 days that the contestants are in the jungle. So of course a lot could go wrong."
