Nowadays a normal, modern house isn't so much of a sought after thing. People would prefer to live in a house that's a bit more quirky and has a bit of character.
You can keep your electric fires, energy saving light bulbs and home entertainment systems, because a home that wouldn't look out of place in The Shire would prove more popular.
With that in mind places like John L Scott real estate are selling gaffs that would suit Frodo Baggins down to the ground. This property in particular costs less than most London one-bedroom flats, the Mirror reports.

If you ever fancy packing it all in over in Britain, you can get over to America to Hidden Valley, Washington, where this Hobbit-esque house is available for $775,000 (£570,587), after it dropped from (£607,399).
Much like when Gandalf visits Bilbo in Lord of the Rings, though, it might not be ideal for fairly tall people, as the ceilings are quite low.

The property has its own creek, which is perfect to put your feet up and smoke your pipe while sipping your home brewed ale, if a half-pint in the Green Dragon doesn't take your fancy.
There's plenty of stone work inside, as well as log fires, but there's a breakfast bar and oven, stove, fridge and freezer that bring back a bit of modernity.

It has four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms on the 2,800 square foot property.
There are some luxuries too, as it has a Hot Tub and spa, as well as electric gates and high speed internet.
