Grimes has decided to use one of TikTok's ever-increasing number of trends to offer up some support for her boyfriend, tech billionaire Elon Musk. Check out the video below:

In this case, the trend we're on about is the 'Is He Hot Or...?' trend.

Basically, you're supposed to dance about to a particular tune and list a number of questions about your significant other suggesting 'is he hot or...?'

The list of things that people can either be 'hot or...' is endless, and thousands of people have offered up their suggestions before Grimes.

Previous examples have included 'Is he hot or do we just make cute kids together?'', 'Is he hot or does he just willingly watch Pride and Prejudice with me?' and 'Is he hot or is he just best friends with all of my brothers and cousins?'.

However, the 33-year-old singer - real name Claire Boucher - obviously wanted to challenge some of what she believes are common misconceptions about her significant other.

She captioned the video: "Stop harassing me on this app over fake news and I am not my bf's spokesperson."

Fair enough.

In the video, the extroverted 'Oblivion' singer posed with a robot dog while several questions flash up on the screen pertaining to her celebrity other-half.

Those questions include things like 'Is he hot or is he out to destroy big oil?' and 'Is he hot or will he put the first human on Mars?'.

That first one is up for debate, and that second one remains to be seen, but you can catch what she's getting at.

She continues stroking the robot dog as the text poses further teasers such as 'Is he hot or is he giving an $100m prize for scalable ideas to remove CO2 from the earth's atmosphere?' and 'Is he hot or is he developing batteries that don't use cobalt therefore eliminating unethical mining practices from the supply chains for our mobile phones and cars?'.

OK, those last two are a bit of a mouthful, but - again - we can see where she's coming from.

Strangely enough, at the end of the video, Grimes pulls a broad smile and raises what appears to be a knife up to the camera.

What she means by that - if anything at all - is not immediately clear, but it certainly adds to the drama a bit.

Anyway, this isn't the first time Grimes has used her social media platforms to defend Musk, who she has been in a relationship with for three years and shares a son named X Æ A-Xii, pronounced X-Ash-A-Twelve.

Earlier on this year, she responded to claims from some that Musk was 'destroying the planet and humanity' by saying: "How is he doing these things? His whole career is about making travel/house power etc. sustainable and green. It's worth a deep dive."
