Will Ferrell and Harry Styles smash James Corden's desk with sledge hammers on final Late Late Show

Will Ferrell and Harry Styles smash James Corden's desk with sledge hammers on final Late Late Show

The two wasted no time in getting rid of the iconic part of the set.

Will Ferrell and Harry Styles have left their mark on James Corden's The Late Late Show.

While they certainly provided interesting insights into their lives during the final ever episode of the show, they were given the task of a little renovation.

The two were provided with a sledgehammer and took turns smashing the late night talkshow host's desk to pieces.

Corden could be seen cowering nearby at all the commotion and it would have been a bittersweet end to the beloved set piece.

The desk ended up being a mangled collection of wood chips by the time they were done.

After eight years, Corden is finally done with the programme.

During his chat with Harry Styles, the singer revealed he wouldn't say no to linking up with his former boy band.

On the last ever Spill Your Guts or Eat Your Guts segment, Harry said: "I think I would never say never to that. If there was a time when we wanted to do it, I don’t see why we wouldn’t.”

If you're wondering why Corden is stepping away from the legendary late night show now, it's all due to his family.

He said it was certainly a difficult decision to make as they have established themselves in America for nearly a decade.

However, he revealed to fellow talkshow host Drew Barrymore that his work was being prioritised over his family.

"When I was shooting the show Mammals two summers ago, one day I was filming on a Sunday and I came downstairs, it was about 6am and my son, who was 10 at the time, was sitting on the stairs," Corden said.

"And he said, 'Are you working today?' And I said, 'I am'. And he said, 'But it's Sunday'.

"And I said, 'I know, buddy, but the schedule is just so all over the place, [I've] just got to get it done because I only have a tiny amount of time before we have to go back and do the [Late Late] show'.

"And his face just kind of dropped.

"And I got in the car and I called my wife Jules and I said, 'I've realised, best case scenario, we have six more summers where Max even remotely wants to be around us. And I cannot waste another one'."

So, they made the big decision to move back to the UK.
