What Is Will Ferrell's Net Worth In 2022?

All you need to know about the net worth of the successful actor.

I’m sure you have all heard of Will Ferrell, with his unique and over dramatic take on comedy earning him recognition and popularity across Hollywood for the last thirty years. Not only starring as the central character across a variety of films, Ferrell has also excelled as an executive producer and a writer in many popular titles. So, after many successful years in the industry, I bet you are also wondering how much the wacky comedian is now worth?

Will Ferrell Net Worth:

Will Ferrell is known across the globe for his acting prowess, with the American comedian producing quintessential comedy films such as Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy (2004) and the Christmas classic, Elf (2003). With all these films gaining huge success, it is no wonder Ferrell earns as much as he does. He has been known as one of the highest-paid actors in the world, receiving more than $20 million for a single film.

As of 2022, Will Ferrell is estimated to have a net worth of $160 million, as calculated by CelebrityNetWorth.

Ferrell was born in 1967 in Irvine, California and grew up in his suburban house with his parents and younger brother. His quiet life is what sparked his vivid imagination, with Ferrell himself saying that he had to keep himself entertained when he was younger, presenting some of the flamboyant, comedic outbursts that the world now knows him for.

Ferrell’s acting career began after he graduated from the University of Southern California in 1990 with a BA in sports information. He realised that he didn't want to enter the world of broadcasting or sports journalism, so he looked towards comedy for guidance. In 1990 he tried a short stint as a stand up comedian, which led to him joining the Los Angeles comedy group The Groundlings in 1994. After great success here, Saturday Night Live approached Ferrell about joining them and after impressing the main producer, Ferrell joined the cast in 1995 for a seven year tenure. During his time on SNL he became almost an overnight success, with his spot-on impressions making Americans’ laugh all night long.

In this period of his life, Ferrell first started appearing in movies, most notably taking on roles in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997) and Zoolander (2001). His first central role in a film after leaving SNL came when he starred in the 2003 film Old School, where his performance as Frank earned him an MTV award for the Best Comedic Performance. Since then Ferrell’s career has just continued to snowball, with the actor earning $40 million alone in 2005.

Ferrell’s success has led to him earning an astonishing amount of money, however for Ferrell money isn't everything. In 2021, he was offered a cool $29 million to make an Elf sequel, however he turned this down because his heart wasn't in it.

The movie legend has resided since 2007 in his primary home in Los Angeles, which he bought for $9.9 million in the Hollywood Hills from fellow celebrity Ellen DeGeneres. The property covers an immense 2.3 acres of land and today would be worth around at least $20 million.

To this day Ferrell is one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, and with his unique style of comedy still making the world laugh, it doesn’t look like the 54 year old will be slowing down anytime soon.
