Woman Trapped In 8-Year-Old's Body Goes On Blind Date

A woman stuck inside the body of an eight-year-old has gone on a blind date with a former football player. You can see part of their meeting below:

The 22-year-old, who is trying to live a normal adult life, was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer at six months old.

She had treatment which resulted in her stopping growing, which was something no one had expected to happen.

Despite being a grown woman, Shauna stands at just 3ft 10in - the average height of an eight-year-old.

A TLC documentary I Am Shauna Rae is following her journey as she navigates the obstacles in life, including dating.

Before meeting up with Abraham, Shauna explained how she wanted the dates she was going on to be blind - meaning the pair hadn't seen each other. Abraham had however been told about Shauna and knew about her cancer diagnosis.

Speaking to the cameras, Shauna explained: "There's a lot of judgement in people's faces when they first see me. So having him blind and not know what I look like, changes it. It makes it a little more real."

Upon meeting, Abraham asks Shauna for a hug which is something she admits 'hating' because no one 'knows how to hug a short person'.

After their initial meeting, Abraham explained: "Honestly I was a little surprised and I was like 'alright let me just keep myself contained'.

"I thought I was being Punk'D or something at first. | did get a little background, I was told that she had a form of cancer and that it may have affected her growth a little.

"I tried not to hear too much more, I just wanted to come into this with no expectations and have a good time."

Referring about how she feels about dating, Shauna said: "I will say that I was standoffish with Abraham in the beginning and that's just because my trust issues are through the roof. My walls are like 100 feet tall.

"[That's] because I've been used a lot and I've been used for dumb reasons and he's still in that area of 'is he using me, or is he not?'"

Speaking about the documentary, Shauna said: "I'm a woman, a 22-year-old woman stuck in the body of an 8-year-old.

“My pituitary gland was rendered almost dormant because of the chemotherapy. The doctor told me I was done growing - my bones were fused and my height is three feet and ten inches.”
