Zendaya's New Madame Tussauds Wax Figure Has Fans Completely Divided

Some have questioned the waxwork and asked whether that's the 'best' they could have done

Zendaya will be honoured at Madame Tussauds London with a new waxwork, but some people are a little underwhelmed.

The Emmy Award-winning star of Euphoria has been sculpted using measurements and references taken during her 2015 sitting with the attraction’s artists.

The Hollywood actress – known for her roles in Spider-Man, Dune, and The Greatest Showman – will be taking up permanent residency in the Award Party zone at the London tourist attraction.

The figure of Zendaya, wearing a neon pink suit paired with a chic up-do and subtle jewellery, will be unveiled at the Baker Street attraction on Friday (11 February).

Tim Waters, general manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: “Zendaya just exudes cool. Not only that, she uses her celebrity status to join conversations, thoughtfully, on important social issues.

“She is unapologetically herself – and we, along with her fans, love that about her. With rumours circulating that Zendaya is soon to become a Londoner herself, the timing to pay homage to her at Madame Tussauds London could not be better.

“We know her fans will be lining up for the chance to ‘meet’ their idol when Zendaya’s figure arrives in our Awards Party zone.”

Some people don't seem to be very impressed with the waxwork though with some asking whether that's the 'best' that Madame Tussauds could do. Ouch.

One wrote: "That's not Zendaya... This looks more like a mix of Kylie Jenner and Nicki Minaj."

Another added: "Nah this creepy af, not even close." Say it how it is, fella.

A third commented: "Are you f****** kidding? THE RESEMBLANCE IS NOT EVEN CLOSE! Shame on @MadameTussauds! @Zendaya’s face shape isn’t even close in your wax rendering of her likeness. This is garbage! Admit you f***** up."

With many saying the figure looks like Kylie Jenner, others have revealed that they like the work but not the outfit.

One said: "The likeness is great but of all her amazing outfits you made her look like a teenager at a job fair?"

Another added: "Love this... but out of all her iconic looks this is the one they choose???!!!"

Other thought the waxwork was pretty good, with one writing: "That wax figure looks almost exactly like Zendaya idk what y'all are talking about."

Another said: "Am I tripping because I think it looks like her…it looks better than a lot other figures we've seen."

The wax Zendaya will join A-List celebrities including Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hardy, Kate Winslet, Brad Pitt and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the red carpet.

Dwayne Johnson, George Clooney, Dame Helen Mirren, Colin Firth and Angelina Jolie also appear in the Awards Party zone.
