Celebrate Amazon’s same-day delivery with these tech deals

Since American e-tailer Amazon popped up in Australia in December 2017, we’ve been counting down ‘til it launched same-day delivery here.

Amazon has announced from Wednesday, August 21, Prime members in Sydney can get their deliveries that same day. This means if you order something by midday, you'll get it delivered before 10pm the same day. The best bit though? Same-day delivery is completely free.

There’s fine print of course. As mentioned you have to be an Amazon Prime member which is $9.99 per month or $79 for the year. The item has to be eligible for same-day service and the total order value has to be over $49. You also have to live within the Sydney delivery area — you can view the eligible postcodes here.

“We know that busy Australians appreciate the time saved and the reliability of knowing that their order will arrive when we say it will,” says Janet Menzies, country manager for Amazon Australia.

A report out today by Mandala Partners found that in the last decade, faster online delivery times are estimated to have provided almost $350 million of value to consumers through improved convenience and time-saved.
