A man ate nothing for a whole week, only drinking water, and revealed the true impact it had on him.
There’s something to be said about fad diets - not all of them are simply there to lose weight. Some of them are actually beneficial to our health.
For example, the carnivore diet has been linked to a decrease in cholesterol and overall better health for a portion of users who stick it out.
The vegan diet produces similar benefits, and then intermittent fasting has been shown to improve metabolism and even ‘heal’ cells in the body.

You can do the OMAD (one meal a day) diet, fast for 18 hours at set times, or fast for days or even weeks on end.
For Justin Dorff, he chose to fast for seven days, only consuming water to keep himself hydrated (and alive).

While we’ve covered people going three or more days, some might think seven would be a major struggle.
But the YouTuber revealed that the challenges were worth it in the end.

Having posted his 11-minute video to his channel, Justin explained the reasons why he decided to take on the fasting stretch.
Justin said: “For the past 2 months, I've been feeling tired. I've got nagging injuries. I've got this low-level stress. I crave junk food. I feel kind of sad and not really myself.
“Basically, everything hurts and I'm dying.”
To combat this, he said he would be tracking his mood, ‘cravings, hunger, and energy’ throughout the fast, which he dubbed the Great Reset.
One day one, he weighed 76.2kg, but by the end, he lost over four and a half kilograms.

So, what was the impact after completing seven full days?
He explained that he lost 10 and 12 lb, his waist measurements dropped 1 and 12 inches, and his cravings for junk foods were long gone.
The first 20 hours were solid, with him admitting: “My mood's been good. No real cravings, not much hunger, plenty of energy. Nothing really dramatic has happened yet.”
At this point, the body has entered a stage of ketosis, where the body is burning fat for energy instead of glucose.

But on day two, that’s when things became difficult.
“I felt tired, foggyheaded, kind of nauseated. Classic signs of ketosis kicking in,” said Justin.
However, things only got worse from there.
The YouTuber described how days three and four were ‘fantastically rough’ as he reached the midway point of his fast.
He said: “I woke up feeling hollow, like someone scooped out my insides, and I'm just withering away. Also, my hands and feet were cold and white.”

He added he took his pills, and ‘drank an absurd amount of salt water, and spent an hour just out the window’ during this time.
But it took him over an hour to ‘feel human again’ and even after, he was only ‘about 60% loaded’ as he began to feel ‘stuck in slow motion’ and his arms and legs felt heavy.
While you might think this is clearly a terrible idea if your body is revolting against the lack of food.
All it took was one more night and Justin said he went from ‘Zombie’ to ‘God Mode’.
“On day five, for the first time, I cared more about how I felt than how I looked. I wasn't white knuckling it through hunger and cravings. I had tons of energy and crushed my workouts,” Justin revealed to his subscribers.
All in all, he said it was a great opportunity to reset his body, mind, and spirit.
